While a lot of brands, agencies and social media gurus are still whining about GooglePlus, the White House is doing fantastic hangouts like their August 9, 2013 “We the Geeks” Google+ Hangout on “Robots”. We covered it on The Beyond Social Media Show.
They did this 45-minute hangout during Geek Week with pioneering scientists discussing how robots can help transform everything from school classrooms to the factory floor and operating rooms to the way we explore the Solar System.
The purpose of the hangout was “to update you on the state of American robotics and the possibilities for robots to improve life on Earth.”
Participants included American inventors giving #robots incredible new capabilities in manufacturing and medicine, and the Obama Administration’s National Robotics Initiative to accelerate innovation and expand the horizons of human capacity.
The technology FAR FROM PERFECT. It sometimes broke up up during the hangout. But that’s not the point. The point is that they’re doing it, learning and teaching how this remarkable new technology can be used. Kudos to them!
Wake up brands and social media gurus!
