Harold Burson, legendary communicator and co-founder of the humongous Burson-Marsteller PR, has begun a decidely unbloggy blog on the occasion of his 85th birthday. His first post explains that he has much to share and explains how important it is to read enough to be in the know. He names the newspapers, magazines and books he reads, but doesn’t mention blogs or online media at all.
Undoubtedly he could share some fascinating stories of how PR has shaped opinions during his career, and I hope he will.
Burson Marsteller is late to the social media world. The company’s capabilities don’t mention blogs, wikis, intranets or other new media communications tools. They have a kind of blah blog called e-fluentials.
So does this mean that they’re going to hire bloggers to bring them up to speed?
