My mother has advanced Alzheimer’s Disease, and it sucks. What is known about it would fit on the head of a pin.
But the Alzheimer’s Association is working hard to find prevention and a cure, and now they’re getting some fundraising help from none other than the fabulous Samuel L Jackson, who says Alzheimer’s has unfortunately affected his family also. (Did I mention that I’ve always been madly in love with Samuel L. Jackson?)
Enter by the end of the day on Wednesday, June 6, on Prizeo by making a donation as small as $3 to support Alzheimer’s research. You could find yourself at the Shooting Stars Benefit 2013, where Jackson is hosting a celebrity golf tournament.
And the lucky winner gets to spend time and have lunch with him.
The mission, says Jackson, is “to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Proceeds raised from The Affinity Estate Shooting Stars Benefit and this Prizeo campaign will be donated to Alzheimer’s Association – the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.”
