My friend and colleague, William Johnson, 60, has died of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was one of the first online friends I made when I started working on Internet marketing in 1995. And he was one of the first, and always one of the best of the search engine experts. He designed my first website, free of charge, to help me get started. He taught me a lot and he made me laugh. We’d lost touch, but I am deeply saddened by the news of his death.
I am at a very fortunate point in my life. My parents, brothers, sisters, niece and nephews are alive and well. My friends have had their problems, but they are all doing fine, as am I. Somehow, you just expect that people you care about will always be there. But they won’t. So give out some extra hugs today. Pick up the phone and call an old friend. Tell them you love them. Don’t put it off.
William Johnson, Internet Pioneer, Lovely Person, RIP

Will was one of the finest people I’ve had the pleasure to work with. He will be sorely missed by all of us who appreciated his professionalism and his zest for life. R.I.P, Will….
