In a rare move among ad agencies, AKQA is very publicly suing alleged deadbeat former client infoUSA for refusing to pay its bills.
The agency says it was stiffed on a $817,388 bill for creating a multi-million dollar cross-media campaign for Video Yellow Pages USA.
Letting any client run of an $817K bill is just bad management in my opinion. New York State laws prohibit my company from operating as a bank, and we always either get paid up front or have the client billed directly for expenses.
