candy.jpgHalloween always makes me feel like Alice in Wonderland. The candy calls my name, everyone wears strange costumes (including me.)
To get ready for the kids who’ll come Trick or Treating, I went out and bought the Halloween candy this afternoon. I tied the plastic bag in a knot and put it on top of the refrigerator, all the way in back. Out of sight, out of mind was the plan.
But then, about 1/2 hour ago, the bite-size Snickers started softly calling my name. “B.L…..B.L….eat me” said the first. “No, I’m waiting til Tuesday,” I protested. “Eat me called another, and another, and then another. “I can’t hear you!” I insisted.
But then the first one popped out of the bag and started hopping across the floor. Benny Bix Ochman Labradoodle Puppy saw it first and I ran and grabbed it because chocolate is terrible for dogs. Poisons them or something. And then out popped a few more Snickers. I rescued Benny from them by quickly eating them.
But that’s it. I’m not having any more Snickers. They’re for the Trick or Treaters. Well, ok, I might have a couple Double Dark Hershey’s Kisses. But that’s all. I mean it!
