Lord knows I was no fan of President Ronald Reagan’s policies, but I have always been moved by the devotion between him and Nancy Reagan.
The former First Lady believes her husband, who’d long been in the prison of advanced Alzheimer’s, recognized her when he stared into her eyes for an instant before taking his last breath, his daughter Patti Davis writes in the upcoming issue of People Magazine.
“It was the greatest gift he could have given me,” the former First Lady told her family.
Davis recalls, “[His eyes] were clear and blue and full of life. It was the last thing he could do to show my mother how entwined their souls are and it was everything.

If Nancy was so in love with Ronnie, how come she had a long running affair with Frank Sinatra?
nobody said they were perfect. :>)
What woman wouldn’t have had an affair with Sinatra if the opportunity presented itself?:)
BUT the love and devotion that she showed her husband at a time he needed her most is commendable.
My grandfather was a victim of Alzheimer’s and we took care of him at home from beginning to end. It is not an easy task. The physical strain is the least of the disease on family it is the emotional effects that can not be began to understand until you have lived it. It is the most cruel disease of all, it is not merciful and it does not discriminate.
Nancy righted any wrong she did by standing by her husband and making his life as happy as possible in a time he needed her most.
