The amazing musician, Jake Shimabukuro, performs this gorgeous rendition of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” on a 4-string ukelele. Who know that was even possible!
It’s via Midnight Ukelele disco. While you’re there, listen to Akrami Brain Collective play “Spain” on the Uke. (Full disclosure, :>) I play a bit of 5-string banjo)

As someone who has tried to learn the Uke for a year, this guy has inspired me. I cannot believe he can make a Uke sound like that. Watch the entire video. The last minute is insane.
Eric
After I met him at The Banjo Institute ( http://www.msen.com/~brianhef/tbi1992n.html – i’m actually somewhere in that picture!)and begged him to teach me to play, I took lessons on 5-string banjo with the great tony trishka. i gave up after a year, thinking i had no talent at all. but friends who are real musicians laugh, and say you have to give it at least 5 years. Keep going eric. the mandolin is intense!
Both Jake and the Akamai Brain Collective are absolutely phenomenal!
I think I’ve watched all the clips of both Jake and the ABC on Midnight Ukulele Disco.
I’ve watched enough of the other clips, too, to learn that there are so many more uke afficionados out there.
While I won’t pretend to have aspirations to play at the level these guys do, it’s quite inspiring. Now I just have to get that 40-year-old ukulele from my parents we’ve had since living in Hawaii those many years ago. :-)
