Here’s another example of a blogger breaking a big news story weeks before traditional media.
Republicans are scrambling to find a replacement candidate after U.S. Rep. Edward L. Schrock (R- VA) announced his retirement amid allegations — begun by a blogger — that he is gay, according to Associated Press.
Schrock is married and a conservative who has voted for legislation to ban gay marriages.
Mike Rogers, of Blogactive.com is the blogger who is promising more embarrassing revelations. The site links to an audio recording that it claims is Schrock calling into the MegaMates/Megaphone Line, a telephone service that men can use to meet other men. (I was unable to get the link to work.)
Rogers promises to out a “highly placed member of the Bush administration” shortly. Woudln’t it be cool if it’s Cheney?

Who knew Cheyney, of all people, would become the voice of reason on the gay marriage issue?

Couldn’t be Cheney. Can’t keep that secret in Wyoming.
I’m putting 50% of my money on Ashcroft. The other 50% on Ed Gillespie. That “Kerry is a pervert” comment has to make you wonder.
