Robert Scoble and Shel Israel’s The Red Couch project is part of a sea change in publishing brought about by bloggers.
Scoble and Israel have posted their book proposal and asked for feedback.
They’ll listen to anyone with ideas to contribute. Publishing rights will be auctioned on eBay.
I don’t agree with Neville Hobson that this will spell the death of dead-tree publishing. A lot of people don’t like to read long documents on the screen. But it is sure to have a huge impact. {UPDATE: My bad. Neville actually said it would not spell the death of traditional publishing. See his comment.]
Scobel and Isreal are expanding on the way Dan Gillmor, wrote his book, “We The Media,” through his blog, asking for feedback and sources as he wrote. The Red Couch Project takes the process up a few notches. Should be most interesting to be able to participate.
