The Defense Department, according to the Washington Post, is raising a furor among privacy advocates by hiring the marketing firm Be Now Inc of Wakefield, MA, to create a database of high school students ages 16 to 18 and all college students to help the military identify potential recruits in a time of dwindling enlistment in some branches..
Turning to an outside firm curcumvents laws that restrict the government’s right to hold or collect citizen information.
Still believe there won’t be a draft soon?

You seem to have misspelled “High School” in your post-title. I thought you’d want to know.
Thanks! I fixed it. MT needs a spellcheck big-time.
My name is Leah Silvieus, and I am working on a story for CNN about the U.S. Department of Defense gathering information regarding the student database, and we want to talk with young people who would be impacted. If you are interested, please e-mail me at leah.silvieus@turner.com.
