There’s now a wiki tracking fake blogs, which are called flogs. The wiki was started by Tim Duckett and Wayne Robinson of UK’s Cutting Through blog
The home page declares: “This site is a clearing house for information about ‘flogs’, or fake weblogs created by corporate marketing departments as lame marketing exercises.”
So far the site lists only three flogs:
* McDonald’s LincolnFry
* Associated Press’ mysterious BadLanguage
* MSNFound

The problem with fake blogs, especially the ones done by ad agencies and as marketing stunts, is that they get pulled off the internet after the backlash. Perhaps there should be some instructions on the wiki about how to capture a fake blog before it’s taken down…hmm >:-)
