Golin Harris is doing an old-fashioned stunt with hundreds of people in Bryant Park dressed in cow costumes to promote Nestle’s Half & Half. Could have been terrific. Too bad it’s so lame.
The website, at 12:30 PM today, has no info on the event, which took place from 10 am to 11 am. The publicist did send me two blurry photos, which are quite hilarious. Plus points for him for finding the post I ran the other day and getting in touch. But where’s the live feed from the event? Where are the photos uploaded from the event? Where’s the streaming video? The audio? The podcast? This is 2005 guys! Wake up and smell the milk. (And please, no cowracter blog.)
There’s a contest to win a $50K check and the contest only “is open to anyone who received a special squeezable cow on Wednesday, May 11.”
Lame. Lame. Lame.

Oh, I am sooooo hoping for a Cow blog. Not enough cows are blogging, and cows are cute.
But, I agree that photos would have been cool. Audio and video might have been a little over the top, and it’s hard enough to explain RSS to corporate America, let’s try explaining Podcasting.
I wouldn’t say lame, lame, lame but only half-lame.
B.L., I’m giving a presentation next week to a PRSA group in Orange County about blogs, rss and other “modern media” tools, and if you don’t mind I would love to share this post with the group to help emphasize my points (And by the way, we are recording the presentation so we can make it available on our site as a video webcast and podcast). I know there will be at least one or two people from GH’s Los Angeles office in attendance :-)
I’m a total bovomaniac so I agree that cows are cute. But I think there ARE enough cows blogging :>)
Gary: You rock! Go right ahead and use this post and whatever comments it generates.

Just because the public perception is that bloggers are overweight, you didn’t have to break out the cow comment. That’s just cold.
Jeez Jeremy: Lighten up. Here are some of the cow blogs to which I was referring:
Cow Neodragon
Cow Blogging
Bovine Blog
The Contented Cow
Cow’s Ruminating
BL
BL – it was a play on words, joking around. And, you forgot Raging Cow, what may well be the first character blog.
All I can think is … if you think it’s tough to explain RSS to corporate types… try explaining it to cows.
Cows are the best, there couldn’t be enough cow blogs in my opinion!
