The date on this cartoon really caught my eye- it was my senior year at the University of Missouri School of Journalism where the ethics of journalism were really pounded into our heads and our hearts.
These days I call myself a reformed journalist because I do not believe that the majority of people who call themselves journalists actually believe they have a responsibility to their readers and I definitely don’t think most people running around calling themselves a journalist are there to right wrongs.
In 2007, that seems to be the job of the bloggers – or what I like to call professional writers using this medium – the blogomists.
Elana – I love blogomists!
Someone once described me as a “blogeuse Professionale” and I had that as my signature for a long time. Maybe I should switch to blogomist.
I too have a J-degree. Prostituted my talents as a flak for years, but feel like I’m home again as a blogger.
