Chris Pirillo of Lockergnome explains why he’s abandoning full-text RSS feeds — he needs to make a living. Robert Scoble and many others demand full-text feeds in their RSS readers. Right now, the only ads you can include in your feed are Google AdSense ads, from which most bloggers make bupkas.
I use my feeds to scan posts and see what blogs I want to visit. I have no problem clicking once or twice to get to a full post. And I certainly have no problem with ads on blogs. Gotta make a living somehow and advertising is one way to do it.
In my opinion, full posts just slow me down. And you can’t make comments to a post or find trackback links in RSS feeds so you need to visit any blog you want to participate in.

Pirillo and Ochman Declare Full-Text RSS Dead; Wake Me Up for the Funeral

On the other hand, if the full post is in the feed, this bogs me down with reading fully, at a point when my head is only in scanning mode.
And that causes me to avoid even starting on those feeds that I know will have full posts, until an elusiv…
