What an extraordinary day! I did two presentations at IBM’s Blog Enablement Day, a full-day iniative aimed at getting IBMers blogging. The event was organized by Sher Taton, IBM Worldwide Interactive Marketing Manager.
IBM competitors and industry thought leaders are blogging about IBM 24/7 and right now, the company is not responding, said John “Boz” Handy-Bosma, Senior IT Architect in IBM Global Services, Application Management Services. The sweet spot of blogging, he said, “reveals intellectual ability, not intellectual property.”

You know what would be really cool? If they allowed everyone else to know what you talked about at the conference. Upload the slides and whitepapers and link to them from this blog. Information wants to be free anyway.
But alas, my rent, electric, phone, food, health insurance,Internet connection, etc do not want to be free.
And the five minuttes involved in uploading the slides would make you poor? Blogging is about sharing – the way I see it – and frankly, right now your blog is just an old-fashioned NYT-style newspaper using a bloggish layout.
Jacob- FYI – my IBM presentation was 3 hours long, 6 megs of slides.
Blogging is about sharing intelligence, not intellectual property. Feel free to stop reading my old-fashioned blog and don’t let the door hit you on your way out.
