HP.pngHP may have a blog storm brewing. Or its former employee may just be getting his/her ya yas out for his/her own amusement about stuff people already know, or think they know.
One of its former, disgruntled, employees has given Consumerist “14 Hewlett-Packard Company Secrets” including:

1: Many HP Printers, like their laser printers, have a built-in page-count after which they won’t work
2: To get past the voice prompt system, repeatedly say “Agent.”
7: Using non-HP cartridges in your printer will void your warranty, and sometimes makes stuff blow up real good. The tech support will hang up on you if it is proven that the damage was caused by non-HP cartridges.
11: If you threaten a lawsuit, HP CSRs are told to stop the call immediately and hang up.

The story has already had 3614 Diggs.
No mention of it on the HP site or Eric Kintz’ blog.
Doesn’t really seem like information customers don’t already know.
Companies large and small face this kind of coverage online these days. Responding to put out a fire is usually the way to go. It will be interesting to see if this becomes a meme or fades away.
