Morgan Brown, a homeless man in Vermont, has started an online community dedicated to sharing information about the troubled psychiatric hospital, Vermont State Hospital.
Brown, like The Homeless Guy, Kevin Barbieux in Nashville, TN, blogs mostly from the public library. Brown says he blogs up to six hours a day.
Jack McCullough, project director for the Mental Health Law Project run by Vermont Legal Aid, said the blog could be a valuable service to Vermonters and has already volunteered to contribute.
Barbieux has just been appointed to the Nashville Homeless Commission, and now lives in a subsidized apartment furnished with help from readers of his blog.
I met Barbieux when I was in Nashville for the Media Bloggers Association meeting in the spring, and he is really dedicated to helping people explain the many causes of homelessness. I’m sure he’ll be a valuable member of the commission.
