green_party_ad.jpgThe Green Party of the United States ran a full-page ad in today’s New York Times, encouraging people to “Register Green. Vote Green. Give Green.”
The group’s press release says they ran the ad “because the American people deserve to know that there are progressive political voices and choices in this country.”
There’s certainly a huge pool of disenchanted voters, definitely not cheered by the emerging Bush cabinet, who may be seeking an alternative.
Green presidential nominee David Cobb recently announced his intention to file a formal demand for a recount of presidential ballots cast in Ohio, due to widespread reports of voting irregularites there. Cobb needed $113,600 for Ohio’s required fee for a statewide recount, and raised $150,000 in four days, according to the organization’s site.
