George Carlin on why his website isn’t up to date:
“Well, I finally found out that trying to keep a website up to date while still maintaining a full career schedule is a real pain in the ass. So here I am again, after about a six-month absence. This website stuff is a real bother, because it lacks instant gratification. There’s no psychic payoff. All the other things I do give me a charge and a lift. This seems more like doing homework. Fuck that shit!”
I bet a lot of bloggers agree with him.

George Carlin: Keeping A Website Up To Date Is A Real Pain In The Ass – Thanks BL Ochman
I just got back from a couple of days in the country with some old friends – good laughs, good times and lots of food. The need to Blog is always present. I just came across BL Ochman’s latest post,…
Yeah, it’s REAL freakin’ hard to keep a website “up to date.” Right. It’s so hard that millions of bloggers of all ages manage to do it EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Seriously, I don’t understand Carlin’s point.
I wonder how many of those millions have schedules that keep them as busy as Carlin.
Of those millions of bloggers, only a tiny percentage have an audience. If you write a diary, there’s nothing to it. If you approach blogging as journalism and do research, interviews and digesting of thousands of sources, there’s a lot more involved.
Seriously, David, how much time do you think George Carlin spends in front of a computer every day? In his frame of mind, he has a life outside of the web and blogs. In our frame of mind, our life includes the web and blogs. Different perspective, sure, but if you can’t relate *at all*, you need to go outside for a while…
Well, maybe George could try using a blog. His website is not configured as one and that may be his problem. Getting his website updated means getting something done so that someone else puts it up when they can. George is missing the instant gratification he would get from his own blog. Judging from his use of language (getting raunchier with age), he doesn’t have time to use his brain to articulate his point any better than ‘f’ this anyway.
