The Democrats and Republicans have a new toy — streaming video — and they are reveling in their ability to sling mud ’round the globe via the Internet.
As a result of improved technology, distributing video on the Internet is “practically free,” according to political commentator Bill Rappleye of NBC TV’s Providence, RI affiliate.
The Republican’s “International Man of Mystery” cartoon slams Kerry’s trippy claim that he has friends in foreign governments. The Democratic video starts out paying homage to “South Park,” but soon slams Bush with hard facts about his ballooning deficit.
Rappleye notes that the ads are too over the top to actually sway undecided voters, but they make great fun for spectators with high speed connections.
