George, Laura and Jenna Bush all raised their right hands high in the air, and lifted their pinky and index fingers during the coronation — a move that left deaf people snickering and Norweigans shaking their heads.
Texans recognized the “Hook ’em horns” hand sign as a show of support for the University of Texas’ Longhorns football team.
But deaf people who use American Sign Language easily identified the sign for “bullshit.” In Norway, shocked people interpreted his hand gesture during his inauguration as a salute to Satan.
It’s not the first time the American royals have used the signal. Don’t the official sign language translators tell them about stuff like this?

So, what makes you sure that the sign readers and the Norwegians aren’t the ones who have it right?
I’m 100% sure the deaf people and Norweigans ARE right. What surprises me is that nobody told the royals that there were other meanings to their sign.
The sign that Bush used was the right sign for Texas Longhorns.
If he had turned his hand around (show the back of his hand towards the person) then it would mean BS in Deaf culture.
Those people who said that this sign Bush was using meant to be BS are hearing people that don’t know ASL (American Sign Language).
