How often should you post to your Facebook page for optimal results?
Brands should typically not post more frequently then once a day, unless they have truly exceptional news. Every second day, or only a couple of times a week is enough for some brands, says SocialBakers, a Facebook statistics portal.
You won’t be able to maintain a social connection with your audience if you post less than twice a week, says SocialBakers. However, you’ll also risk losing engagement if you post more than twice a day.
Who really cares what most brands say on Facebook. Amuse us, inform, teach, solve our customer service problems, have a contest, give something away on Facebook – but don’t expect us to come back every day, or more than once a day to hear about your brand.
Disagreed.
When you consider the average Facebook user has 150 friends, each of those updates appears in the news feed. Liked page updates appear in the same feed. So a page that does not update several times a day is lost in the shuffle.
From what I’ve learned, Facebook uses an algorithm to determine “Edge Rank” which weights the value of posts and displays them once or more based on keywords and a number of complex factors – not just how often you post.
Could not really agree more about this to be honest. Some brands I’ve worked with are obsessed with upadating every single day and some even push it a couple of times a day but I wouldn’t even be worried if it went a couple of days or a week without it. Nothing worse than being in your face all the time
especially when the nature of most company posts is advertising or “tell us how much you love us and why”
I totally agree with Niall about the in-your-face method. Quality content is important but the key is engagement. Your client’s content is always fresh without the constant need to post.
yes, but engagement requires much much more than posting frequency
I would also add that you should not post within the same hour. If you do NEED to post more than once a day, it needs to be spread out.
I think this depends on what type of messages they’re Tweeting. As long as what they’re posting is interesting/funny, they can post multiple times a day and it won’t really bother me.
agreed, but not many brands are funny or interesting in their posts!
