The tagline of this commercial for Guinness is “The choices we make reveal the true nature of our character” Wow!
BBDO New York’s latest spot for Guinness beer show us a group of men in the midst of an intense game of wheelchair basketball.
The teammates wrestle for possession of the ball, collide, fall over and – with obvious difficulty – quickly get back up into their chairs without missing a beat.
They celebrate baskets made, demonstrate their strong camaraderie until the game comes to an end. Then they reveal the true depth of their bond. Beautiful!
Matthew Cortellesi: Hero
The theme “The choices we make reveal the true nature of our character” also applies to my friend Matthew Cortellesi who revealed the true nature of his character when he came to the aid of a man attacked in Union Square in a hate crime. The man, Jeffrey Babbitt, later died. Matt suffered broken ribs in a bad beating he took while trying to help Babbitt. Thank you for doing the right thing Matt!
