It was rainy instead of snowy on Christmas night in New York, but it was magical nonetheless. Friends and I saw “Dream Girls” (don’t miss it!) at the always-fabulous Ziegfeld Theater, and then wandered over to see the tree at Rockefeller Center. Despite my feelings about the absolute stupidity of killing such a majestic tree, for the first time in many years, the tree was a big, and as breath-taking as the one I remember my grandmother taking me to see when I was five or six.
And then we heard cheering over at the skating rink,. We got there just in time to see Esther Pavlovsky and her beau Ezra Maos, along on the rink, locked in a kiss after she accepted his proposal of marriage. The rink turns 70 this year. What a cool place to propose!
For a few minutes, the greatest city on earth felt like a small town.
Another Magic Night in New York City
