Segway.jpgIn a classic PR stunt, a solo Segway rider and a small film crew will embark on a two and a half month, 4,300 mile “America at 10 MPH” tour in August. The expedition will interview people from all walks of life along the way and blog about the experience. There also will be a feature-length documentary about the event. My guess is that if it is well-written, the blog will be the more interesting of the two.
Since Segway itself has bombed, big-time, as a mode of transportation, I doubt it will sell more Segways. The trip is the scheme of Spinning Blue, “a production company specializing in using digital media in compelling ways to gain insight about the world.” According to their press release, “Their plan is to engage in many more expedition-based projects, similar to America at 10 mph.”
