The all-too-familiar steady stream of sirens for more than half and hour this afternoon led me to turn on the TV. There I saw the 9/11-like news of this East 72nd St building burning after being hit by a plane.
It happened a mile from my house, but across the street from one friend and in the next building to another. Way too close for comfort.
Heart-felt condolences to the families of the dead and injured and those whose homes burned.
Interestingly, every news outlet has a link where viewers and readers are asked to email photos and videos and call in eye-witness accounts.
