FedEx is taking shots at UPS, Miller at Coors Light and so on, ad nauseum. Haven’t they all heard of Tivo — the thing we use to zap these stupid missives out of our lives?
What’s missing in all this mud slinging is the big idea; or any creative idea for that matter.
Too bad agencies aren’t realizing that their traditional methods are fossilizing and that it’s time to try new ways of proving product superiority.
As the Cluetrain Manifesto noted in the dawn of the Internet Age, the old ways of hitting people over the head with a message just don’t work no more.
