Astoundingly, according to Jay Rosen, who will be blogging live from the floor, 15,000 reporters will be covering the Democratic convention, including approximately 50 bloggers. Imagine trying to break an exclusive!
Among bloggers who are credentialed: Dave Winer of Scripting News, Taegan Goddard of Political Wire, Markos Moulitsas Z?niga of Daily Kos who says, “I’ll tell you what won’t work — dropping press releases on our laps. And while some of the bloggers will do heavy speech coverage, many of us won’t.”
Says Rosen, “The blogs come at this fresh.” And I’m betting on one of them to break a big one.
I’m betting on that, too. Thanks for the link. Meanwhile, a slight correction. It’s not 15,000 reporters but media people total, which includes editorial assistants and researchers and things.
Sounds like a 1:1 ratio of journos, and helpers to delegates.
should be interesting to see what results in coverage.
