What’s up with Technorati? Like most bloggers, I do a frequent ego check, looking to see how many blogs link to my name and to What’s Next Blog. The Technorati list has always been above 1000 links. Then all of a sudden, the other day, it was down to 27. Now it’s 48. Did Technorati’s servers crash? Did they clean out all links before a certain date? I know from trackbacks that there are, at the very least, many hundreds of blogs linked to mine. Anyone else having the same experience?
What’s Up With Technorati? Did They Clean House? Or Crash?

Technorai World Live Web searches are usually okay, but there are some sites I don’t think it crawls.
Like I never see the several mentions and even posts about me and my blogs that appear on Dvorak Uncensored, a pretty substantial blog.
Weird. I have not seen the problem you mention, but other bloggers have been mentioning various problems recently at Technorati.
Servers are usually blamed tentatively.
I don’t know.
Yes. I think it’s a sore point for a lot of bloggers to see those “this many links, from this many sources” stuck at the same numbers for months and months. Once I posted a similar complaint on my blog and received an e-mail from the company’s CEO (who I’ve met) with an explanation they were “working on” that problem. That was months ago. I would rather them take off the feature than to have it not work.
I’m having serious problems with Technorati also. They won’t let me claim my blog and the search box wasn’t working.
I have bounced emails over to customer support, but they have since ignored my last three.
I was told that they were having technical difficulties, but would have them resolved very soon, although this was around three or four weeks ago.
I’ve never been able to claim my blog or get my profile to work. And there is no way in hell you can get an answer to a question. I hope they look at Technorati to see what is being written about them and do something to fix these problems.
