The Wall Street Journal online has a very strange poll entitled Is the US Housing Market a Bubble? The possible answers seem to lead to contradictory response:
– yes, and it will burst this year
– yes and it will keep growing
Huh? Shouldn’t that be, “yes, but it will not burst this year”?
The real estate bubble is the topic of the month, with cover stories in The New York Times, New York Magazine and just about every other publication. Since none of the publications want to forfeit their considerable real estate ad revenues, none of the articles draw a clear conclusion.

Regarding your last comment about publications not wanting to forfeit ad revenues, in my experience most online real estate classifieds make their dough from people buying ads to sell their properties.
Since a real estate bubble might suggest a sense of urgency to sell your property before the bubble bursts, it would seem to me that publications like the NYT would BENEFIT by hyping a real estate bubble, real or imagined.

yes, i certainly see your point. the real estate section in the Times seems like a big PR placement for realtors. Articles about neighborhoods I know well, because I have lived in them, often sound like the reporter has never been there.
