CNET announced today that the Wall Street Journal, a bastion of subscription-only news on the Web, will tear down the paid walls and make its content available free for 5 days beginning November 8.
Swell, but I’m a subscriber. So I called and asked them to extend my subscription by 5 days. The customer service rep said they hadn’t been told of the freebie and asked me to read her the CNET story. She then immediately extended my subscription. And I emailed her the story so she could share it with co-workers. “I’m sure we’ll get a lot more calls,” she said.
Call the Journal, get your subscription extended.
