The website set up by the family and friends of missing hiker David Koch reports that the Canadian government has officially given up the search despite the fact that hikers lost for as long as 35 days have been found alive in other incidents. On Friday, Canadian official Daniel Jarvis told me “They are not giving up.”
Koch went missing on a mountain near Btritish Columbia on May 25th. It has been warm enough for him to survive and he is out there somewhere. Koch’s sister, Karen, commented on this post. (Scroll down)
Why isn’t the Canadian government going to keep looking for him?
I don’t know David Koch, but I know he and his family deserve to have a search and rescue mission continue.

One of the North Shore Rescue Team (NSRT) left a comment on my post: http://blog.larixconsulting.com/blog/_archives/2005/5/29/894505.html#305151
The bottom line is that they’re scoured the mountain. They feel that if he were still there, they would have found him by now.
It breaks my heart to think of what his family must be going through.
