Sometimes, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) are really over the top. But there is no denying that their latest announcement is of real concern to any thinking, feeling human being on the planet.
On July 20, 2004, PETA released the results of an 8-month, hidden camera undercover investigation into aThe Pilgrim’s Pride KFC chicken slaughterhouse in Moorefield, W.Va., where workers were caught on video stomping birds, kicking them, and slamming them against floors and walls. Workers ripped the animals’ beaks off, twisted their heads off, spat tobacco into their eyes and mouths, spray-painted their faces, and tied their legs together for “laughs.”
Using the Internet to show the film has no doubt speeded KFC’s response, that, according to The Virginia Pilot it will stop doing business with the KFC chicken processing plant whose practices are exposed.
This is a film folks, there is no need to embellish what it shows. The video is brutal and nauseating, but you must watch it.
Contact the chairman of Pilgrim’s Pride and tell him what you think of his plant’s practices. And while you’re at it, tell him to go to hell.
