Please tell me that this is a product placement for the 30th anniversary of Jaws.
Last weekend, a 17 year-old swimmer lost a small chunk of flesh when he was attacked off the coast of New Jersey by what may have been a small great white shark. Officials don’t think, according to WBGO News, that it’ll keep people away from beaches this summer.

This is a most interesting observation. I also speculated on my blog that the prospect of advance buzz may have contributed to Spielberg’s very public, but ill-explained cancellation last weekend of the World Premiere in Tokyo of “War of the Worlds.” Anyway, I’ve enjoyed your musings and have thus added you to my links.
