A cheeky Vancouver, BC teenager named Mike Rowe wanted a catchy name for his Website, so he added soft to his name and registered the URL www.mikerowesoft.com. But Microsoft is unamused.
Microsoft’s lawyers told Rowe he was committing copyright infringement and offered him $10 for the URL, which he found “insulting.”
He’s since received a 25-page lawyer letter explaining that Mikerowsoft might confuse Microsoft customers. Yeah, right.
Before his site was taken down, it said “I just thought it was a good name for my small part-time business.”
