The Ketchum “New Media Division” won’t address this until July at the earliest.
I know this, because they’ve already filled out their blog calenda through the end of June!

Depends on how you search. If you just search ‘Ketchum’ nothing comes up until the third page that can be considered anti-Ketchum.
If you search ‘Ketchum PR’ nothing comes up until the second page, half way down.
If you search for ‘Ketchum Public Relations’ it comes on the first page. But, how many people search for the full name?
“Negative attention is better than no attention at all” strategy?…and then Ketchum can use the search engine rankings to demonstrate the power of blogging, in a snatching victory from the jaws of defeat case study.
Marianne: I don’t believe they have a strategy at all. I think this effort is lame. I don’t think negative attention is better in a case like this, or, for that matter, in most cases.

As if Ketchum hasn’t endured its share of nasty criticism this past year, now the blogosphere’s PR prognosticators are ganging up on Omnicom’s #2 firm. Hopefully, Ketchum will get it right eventually…for the sake of our industry’s reputation!
