I love Oddcast. Besides the phenomenally popular Monk-e-Mail, they’ve produced a constant stream of remarkably creative products which more companies ought to be using in their marketing.
I made my jeune avatar in about five minutes using Oddcast’s AutoPhoto – which turns any photo into a speaking avatar in seconds. (No idea why they gave me braces.) You can try it here, on a site where Taubman, which owns dozens of malls across the country, is using it to promote their back-to-school specials.
This is just one example of Oddcast’s remarkable work. Another that knocked my socks off is U-Do where you can make an avatar and ring tone for your mobile phone. A lot of them look kind of angry, but it’s big fun nonetheless.

I’m a huge fan of Oddcast — love the new Voki personal version — but man — that avatar you posted is kind of creepy looking! I think I prefer the illustrated ones.
Very cool idea… although that picture is a little scary!
Yeah, that picture is weird, but hey, they made it from a photo that looked nothing like that!
i think they just turn everyone into a teenager – hence the braces on my teeth!

Hey, B.L.
I also covered this Oddcast program.

I find the Oddcast avatar demo fascinating. I blogged about it here: http://triangleinnovation.blogspot.com/2007/11/oddcast-avatar.html
