PC Magazine and others report that Lenovo Think Pads also include Sony lithium-ion batteries. While Dell is likely to be the biggest loser, other makers aren’t immune to the problem.
TechSpot reports that, while Dell will take the brunt, Sony’s looking at a painful $200 to $300 million hit.

Prediction: if the problem extends to other brands – and I have long wondered why my Lenovo laptop runs so hot – Dell could come out smelling like a rose for owning up to the problem. The Dell blog reports that they are dancing as fast as they can, which of course isn’t fast enough for someone who can’t use their laptop.
