Dick Waterman, who managed Bonnie Raitt in the early years of her career, has a wonderful tribute on his blog to her father, John Raitt, who died, at age 88, over the weekend.
… that’s the way that I remember John Raitt, standing tall, pumping his fist and bringing a signature song home to a standing ovation.
Ever and still, the big man singing the big song on the big stage.
They’re going to dim the lights on Broadway at 8:00 PM in memory of John Raitt tonight.
Someone who knows the person really always ought to write the obit.
