Craigslist, the almost-entirely-free classified ad site, reports that it will surpass one BILLION page views in August. Founder Craig Newmark has turned down multi-million offers for the site.
It’s easy to see why newspapers would feel threatened by Craigslist, but when asked about it, Newmark replied: “I know they’re worried about us; I wouldn’t say threatened. If they’re worried about us, they’re worried about the wrong thing.” Actually, I think they should be very afraid.
