If there’s anything that should be clear even to George Bush, it is that America is not solidly behind him. He has divided this country deeply and more than half the voters want him deposed.
DailyKos posts an email that is required reading:
Bush is currently leading in Ohio by 136,221
If there are 250,000 provisional ballots outstanding. The highest number I’ve seen.
And 90% of those ballots are good, as they were in 2000. That leaves 225,000 votes.
If 85% of those ballots prove to be for Kerry, about the number that Gore got in 2000. That leaves us with 191,250, giving us a lead of 55,029.
If there are only 200,000 provisionals, following the same calculation would leave us with a lead of 16,779.
If the provisional ballots are only 175,000 that leaves us with a deficit of -2,346 that will leaves us in a position to get an automatic statewide recount.
Or, to put it another way, an automatic recount is triggered by a margin of 0.25% or between 13,000 and 16,000 votes.
I’m sitting here in my t-shirt that says:”If you vote for Bush you can’t be my friend.”

America HAS SPOKEN… OVERWHELMINGLY… Even Clinton never won a popular vote.
Maybe you should not be so quick to jump on the liberal media-bias. Less than 30 minutes after your post Kerry conceded!!!!!
FOUR MORE YEARS!!!!!
I sent an absentee ballot in to Georgia. A lot of good it did!!! Right now it’s 249 to 211 for Bush at 2:10 a.m. I can’t believe how many stupid Americans there are. Let’s hope that putting your right foot forward first helps put Kerry over the top!
Yeah, that’s it, some jerk who doesn’t have the balls to give his/her name tells us that Bush won overwhelmingly. Two electoral votes, and less than 1 percent of the popular vote is not overwhelming. HILARY IN 2008!
I’m sitting here in my t-shirt that says:”If you vote for Bush you can’t be my friend.”
Gotta love that left-wing tolerance! You run a campaign of hatred and division and wonder why people voted against you and your candidate?
Perspective must be skewed on your planet if you think the campaign of hatred and division came from the left.
Hilary in 2008!
I have to say some things after reading all these comments. First, someone said Americans are dumb if they vote for Bush, yet you also say liberals didn’t run a campaign of hatred. So what’s with the name-calling? As a non-partisan, I see a whole lot more democrats with a foul mouth than republicans.
Yes, you’re right, Bush isn’t the best president. But there are strong things he has that Clinton didn’t: character. And Clinton has some things bush doesn’t have: good speaking skills. But I have to ask myself which is more important…
After watching the hysteria, meanness, and Americans at war with each other, it really saddens me that no one can find the good in each other, or at least be grateful for living in a country that allows us to elect our own President.
Take time to think about the American way and that there is so much more to it that politics.
“A country that allows us to elect our own president” — get it? they’re supposed to count all the votes. D’oh.
