Mastercard.jpgIn a blow to the pen industry — and a move that is too close to a bar code on the forehead for my taste — BBC News reports that a Massachussetts Institue of Technology professor has developed a way to authorize credit card payments by simply moving your finger over the card in a virtual signature.
Not as far fetched as it may sound, since Mastercard ran a test last year using the cards in a nine-month pilot program with 15,000 US consumers.
The cards contain Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) which are tiny transponders that send out radio signals that some experts predict will become commonplace in the next decade.
