Metropolitan Museum Blog is Decidedly Unbloggy

museumblog.pngThe Metropolitan Museum of Art is blogging, at long last. Blogmode, an anonymously written fashion blog, claims fashion is "Imbued with meaning, it speaks of dreams, desires, memories, and experiences."

Oddly, the blog masthead has none of that impact or romance, and readers have complained in comments about the not being able to expand the tiny images big enough to see the details.

The blog's comment policy seems sensible, but it's likely that the detailed terms and conditions will be ignored because of the loose way intellectual property is used online. (TechCrunch has some controversial proposals about online intellectual property issues today.)

Dear Metropolitan Museum - you might want to watermark your images and photos if you are worried about unauthorized use. But those itty bitty images are just silly. The interesting stuff is in the details, and we can't see those.
