Moleskine Notebooks Ups Their Legendary Coolness Factor With City Blogs
I spend a huge amount of time online. But I like to take notes with a pen, and paper. Consequently, I've spent a lot of time and money looking for the perfect reporter's notebook. They were too big, too small, too ugly, too chintzy, too just not right.
Then I found Moleskine. Despite the fact that my laptop weighs only two pounds, what I carry around with me is a Moleskine Reporter's Notebook, and I am quite enamored of it. The cover is buttery soft, ink glides across the pages, and it slips into the tiny pocketbook I carry.
The Moleskine notebook is said to have been used by famous artists and authors including Van Gogh, Hemingway, and Matisse. It is now the notebook of choice of many modern writers and artists, including Hugh Macleod at gapingvoid.
I have always used Moleskin notebooks - it's amazing that in spite of the technology changes in the art of writing, 'letting a pen glide' on Moleskin's pages still has its appeal.
Truth be told, the PDA in my shoulder bag is a bunch of 8.5 x 11 sheets cut into quarters. I use this "bunch" for writing notes to myself. Believe me, whenever I go out, I can think of all sorts of things to remind myself about.
