Why Robert Scoble Needs a New Comment Policy

Robert Scoble is a really nice man. He is sincere, and he's smart, and he tries to be fair. He takes blogging, and himself, very seriously, and so he often gets into protracted conversations with commenters on his blog, like the one he's in now.

A lot of bloggers, including me, have a comment policy that says "If I wouldn't tolerate what you're saying in my living room, I won't tolerate it on my blog." If I were Scoble, I'd ban the anonymous jerks who post abusive comments on his blog. Anyone who doesn't have the balls to use their name and a valid email address doesn't exist.
