Google Buys YouTube, Gives Story to Bloggers and MSM Simultaneously

If you had any doubt whatsoever that blogs are here to stay, consider the fact that Google simultaneously announced to blogs and mainstream media that it has bought YouTube for the phenomenal price of $1.65 billion. The Wall St Journal and several bloggers broke the news at 4:20 PM EST.

But hey, considering that Google is an online company annuncing an online deal, I'd expect to see them announce it to online media first. Full disclosure: I own three shares of Google. :>)

The Journal and The NY Times both originally got the story from the Top 100 Blog, TechCrunch, And, perhaps for the first time ever, both credited a blog as their source.
