Paint Your Shoes

Howard Rheingold's painted shoes

My painted shoes.

Besides being the visionary who predicted the social media revolution in his remarkable 2002 book, Smart Mobs, futurist Howard Rheingold paints little murals on his shoes. I didn't paint mine, I bought them that way. But you can bet I've got a pair I want to paint now, with Howard's instructions

When you look down at painted shoes, it's like having little smiles on your feet. If you decide to paint your shoes, please send me a picture of them.

Now it makes sense....when Howard asked me to write for SmartMobs he sent me an email with a picture of a shoe on it - I did not know why...but I said...he's asking me to write for his blog - so forget about the shoe (or ask him about it).

Now you have explained the mystery of Howard Rheingold's painted shoes.
