Michael Dell's "Brownie, You're Doing a Helluva Job" Moment

Michael Dell had a "Brownie, you're doing a helluva job" moment yesterday, saying he has no plans to replace chief executive Kevin Rollins. But shareholders are going to want someone's head.

Here come Dell's higher prices
Dell also said: “The bulk of our business, 85 to 90%, is to businesses and government institutions and those customers are really not buying on price.”

Prediction: Watch for higher prices from Dell coming soon to a computer near you. It's the only way they can pay for all the damage control. And Dell will concentrate on the corporate market, not the single-user or small business market that's so filled with complainers and bloggers.

Bloomberg reports that Sony, who made the four million notebook computer batteries Dell is replacing, will share some of the cost. Meanwhile, don't walk the dog and leave your Dell notebook running.
