Bloomberg for President? Bloomberg2008.com & Bloomberg4President.com Are Registered
I'm for a Bloomberg/Gore 2008 independent ticket. If domain indications are indicators of intent, Bloomberg's definitely thinking about running. Bloomberg2008.com, Bloomberg4President.com are registered anonymously, and MikeBloomberg2008.com is registered to the law firm Wlkie Farr & Gallagher.
It doesn't seem like the strategists are too web-savvy, because mikebloombergblog.com, bloomberg2008blog.com, bloombergblog.com all are available. I don't see a Bloomberg page on MySpace.
Former Bill Clinton advisor Dick Morrissays on his blog today, "If Mike Bloomberg runs for president as an independent, he can win. Yes, not just hurt Hillary Clinton or the Republicans, but actually win the White House."
And by the way, spitzer4president.com is available.
I don't mean to throw a little cold water on your parade, but as someone who works in the political advertising world, registering domains is not an indication of running. It is an indication of people gaming the system in the hopes of making a quick buck or just covering the bases just in case. I do wish you good luck with getting your dream ticket though!!
I speculate that he will run. Should he run, he will win.
Oh, and he has a my Space Page, and a Facebook page, and I understand he bought up about 50 or 60 different combinations of website URLs with his name. He, however, did not buy: http://www.RunMikeRun.com Because I own it. Good for him that I'm a big Bloomberg fan.
Here is my take— It is rare that you find a candidate that agrees with you on every single issue. But at the end of the day, the President is the executive manager of the world's most powerful enterprise, the US government. I believe most voter's underestimate the value of competence and management experience. What is most important to me is, do they have the competence and the experience to manage such an enterprise? Will they keep the economy strong? Will they make sound judgement in a crisis? Will they hire competent people, or just give valuable positions to unqualified individuals because they either have party connects or "owe" someone because of a campaign contribution?
This makes Bloomberg the right man at the right time.
As mayor of New York, he governs by results.
He is the only candidate that will be sure to keep the economy strong.
When the economy is strong. When everyone has a job. People tend to be less concerned about the differences among us. When the economy is bad, and people are unemployed, everyone looks for someone to point the finger at, and politicians look for divisive wedge issues to distract their constituents from the real problems at hand.
The fact is, presidents rarely get to implement even a fraction of the so-called promises and policy positions they campaign on. A president's term in office is most largely shaped by events of the day. And a president's successes and failures in dealing with crisis that emerge define most president's term in office more so that any specific piece of legislation that gets passed on their clock.

Christoper - Your comments and point of view are welcome here. But you can't repeat your URL over and over in a post unless you want to run it in an ad.
I have removed the repeated plugs for your blog because promoting your blog is not my job. I am in favor of, and a volunteer for, a Bloomberg candidacy.
But I will not have my blog posts turned into a vehicle for your, or anyone else's, self-promotion.
Those are the rules of What's Next Blog comments. Abide by them please.
